This Wylie & Lochhead of Glasgow Dressing Table stool has been sympathetically restored and reupholstered to restore it to it's former glory.
The frame is solid oak and has been stripped, sanded and protected with both liquid and browning wax. The kidney shaped motifs have been enhanced with a very light gold gilding which adds a very subtle shimmer in the light.
The seat has been stripped and reupholstered, using the original sheeps wool, which has been washed, before being topped with unbleached calico and a gorgeous champagne jaquard upholstery fabric.
As with all of our upholstery, the fabric meets with British Fire Safety Regulations.

Wylie and Lochhead are a renowned Glasgow furniture maker, operating out of their Buchanan Street workshop from 1829 to 1957. This stool is an earlier piece and has been sympathetically restored and upholstered to preserve as much of it's original charm as possible.
